Course Objectives

1. Understand Geography from a Biblical Perspective

Teach cultural geography through a Christian worldview, helping students relate what they learn about the world to

Scripture and God’s design for humanity.

Encourage students to appreciate cultural diversity, yet evaluate cultural ideas and practices based on biblical principles.

2. Develop Geographic Knowledge and Skills

Learn the physical and cultural characteristics of the world’s major regions and countries (continents, landforms,

climates, resources).

Identify and use geographic tools such as maps, globes, and technology to analyze spatial information and geographic

problems.

Describe physical systems of the earth, including climate and landforms, and explain how these features affect human

societies.

3. Explore Human–Environment Interactions

Examine how geography shapes people, economies, cultures, and governments across different regions.

Analyze patterns of human settlement, population distribution, migration, and cultural practices in relation to environment

and resources.

4. Think Critically About Cultural and Global Issues

Develop critical-thinking skills when interpreting geographic data and when comparing cultures and belief systems.

Analyze world religions, governmental systems, and cultural traditions while considering their influence on global

relationships and worldview.

Construct reasoned perspectives about cultural and environmental topics from a biblical basis.

5. Become an Informed and Engaged Citizen

Help students become informed citizens and empowered participants in society with an understanding of global

geography and cultures.

Apply geographic knowledge to real-world situations, including discussions of economics, politics, and cultural

interaction.

Grades will reflect how well students demonstrate understanding through participation, assignments, and projects.

• Tests & Quizzes – 20%

Assess knowledge of key concepts (map skills, physical features, countries, capitals).

• Homework & Assignments – 15%

Includes worksheets, research, and map labeling activities.

• Class Participation – 30%

Engaging in discussions, group work, and activities.

• Projects – 20%

Larger projects such as creating maps or presenting on regions or cultures.

• Skills & Map Work (15%) – Assessing students' ability to use maps, tools, and resources, including drawing, reading,

and interpreting maps accurately.

Grading Scale

Grading Scale: A = 90-100% • B = 80-89% • C = 70-79% • D = 60-69% • F = Below 60%
