Course Description: In this class, students will learn how to plan, design, and execute their own science projects in preparation for a culminating science fair. Through guided instruction, hands-on experimentation, and project-based learning, students will gain practical skills in scientific investigation, problem-solving, and presentation. Each student will develop a unique science project, from idea generation to final display, and present it at an actual science fair for classmates, family, and community members.This class emphasizes both scientific skills and creative thinking while fostering confidence, curiosity, and independent learning.
Course Content Overview: * Understand the Scientific Method – Learn how to formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and analyze results.* Develop a Science Project – Plan and execute an individual project from start to finish.* Enhance Research Skills – Conduct background research, gather data, and document findings accurately.* Practice Experimentation – Carry out hands-on experiments safely and effectively.* Analyze & Interpret Data – Learn to make observations, identify patterns, and draw evidence-based conclusions.* Create a Science Display – Organize and present findings visually using charts, models, or posters.* Develop Communication Skills – Present projects confidently to peers, families, and judges.* Foster Creativity & Critical Thinking – Solve problems, adapt methods, and think innovatively throughout the project.* Build Time Management & Organization – Learn to plan project steps and meet deadlines independently.
