Grade Level: 9th–12th
Class Time: Tuesday@ 12:30pm - 1:25 pm
Course Duration: Full Year
Lab Fee: $50
Course Description
Students will explore God’s creation at the cellular, genetic, organismal, and ecological levels through both classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory work. Topics include the scientific method, cellular biology, genetics, microbiology, botany, zoology, human anatomy, and ecology. Students will gain a deeper appreciation for the order and design in creation while developing critical thinking skills and scientific literacy.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
Apply the scientific method (hypothesis, experimentation, analysis, conclusion).
Record and analyze data in formal lab reports.
Classify organisms using taxonomy and understand the hierarchy of life.
Interpret and apply genetics principles including Punnett squares, DNA structure, and Mendelian inheritance.
Differentiate between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells and explain their structure and function.
Understand key biochemical processes (respiration, photosynthesis, metabolism).
Explain the diversity of plants, animals, fungi, and microorganisms.
Describe the major human body systems and their interdependence.
Recognize the role of ecosystems and God’s providence in sustaining life.
