Course Description: Beast Academy Level 4 designed for students who are working at a 4-5th grade math level or approxiately ages 9-12. However, because Beast Academy is more advanced than standard curricula, many students use level 4 in 6th or 7th grade depending on their math background. It consists of 4 books covering the topics: Shapes, Multiplication, Exponents, Counting, Division, Logic, Factors, Fractions, Integers, Higher Fractions, Decimals, Probability and. more.

 

Course Objectives: Students will gain the skills of logical reasoning, critical thinking, pattern recognition, multi-step word problems, and algebraic thinking.

 

Grade Level: 5th-7th or ages 9-12 "ish"

 

Class Time: Tuesday & Thursday

12:30 pm - 1:25 pm

 

Course Duration: Full Year

 

Curriculum Fee: $140 (includes all 4 student books, online lessons and practice portal at a bulk discount)

 

 

Required Material(s):

Notebook or Scratch Paper – For working out problems, taking notes, and practicing extra problems.

Pencils & Erasers – Math is about trial and error, so having a way to erase and adjust work is important.

Ruler & Protractor – Useful for geometry-related problems.

Graph Paper – Helps with coordinate plane problems and neat calculations.

Grading Policies & Scale: The bulk of the grade will be based on the student mastering each concept, with recognition of the student’s effort and attitude.

Homework Assignments 20%

Mastery of Concepts 70% • Mastery (4/4 or A) – Student solves problems correctly and explains reasoning. • Developing (3/4 or B) – Student mostly understands but makes small errors. • Needs Improvement (2/4 or C) – Student struggles with concepts and problem-solving. • Not Yet (1/4 or D/F) – Student needs significant help with the topic.

Goal: Students work toward mastery rather than worrying about letter grades.
