Course Objectives

Students will gain skills in following key areas:

• Skip Counting & Multiplication – Mastering patterns and multiplication facts.

• Division – Understanding division as the inverse of multiplication

• Fractions – Learning basic fraction concepts and operations.

• Measurement & Estimation – Developing skills in length, weight, and time.

• Geometry – Identifying shapes, symmetry, and spatial reasoning

• Logic & Problem-Solving – Strengthening reasoning skills with puzzles and word problems.

 

Required Book(s) provided by Class Source

Materials Fee Covers Curriculum. Curriculum Fee: $140 (includes all 4 student books, online lessons and practice portal at a bulk discount)

 

Required Materials

• Notebook or Scratch Paper – For working out problems, taking notes, and practicing extra problems. • Pencils &

Erasers – Math is about trial and error, so having a way to erase and adjust work is important. • Ruler & Protractor – Useful for geometry-related problems.

Grading Policies

The bulk of the grade will be based on the student mastering each concept, with recognition of the student’s effort and

attitude.

• Homework Assignments 20%

• Mastery of Concepts 70%

Grading Scale

Mastery (4/4 or A) – Student solves problems correctly and explains reasoning. • Developing (3/4 or B) – Student mostly

understands but makes small errors. • Needs Improvement (2/4 or C) – Student struggles with concepts and

problem-solving. • Not Yet (1/4 or D/F) – Student needs significant help with the topic.

• Goal: Students work toward mastery rather than worrying about letter grades.
