Course Description: This course will cover the equivalent of a second year of high school Arabic.
Course Objectives:
• Recite John 3:16 in Arabic.
• Read aloud printed Arabic texts with fluency.
• Translate simple Arabic texts into English.
• Identify Arabic speaking nations by name on a regional map.
Grade Level: 7th-12th
Class Time: Thursday 9:00AM-9:55AM
Course Duration: Full Year
Required Materials(s): 3 ring binder, dividers, at home computer device connected to the internet.
Supply Fee: $100 book and supplies fee
Classroom Expectations:
• Express moderately difficult ideas orally using appropriate vocabulary and correct grammar.
• Produce orally in Arabic greetings and responses for common social situations fluently with appropriate vocabulary and correct grammar.
• Translate from memory 400 Arabic words
• Sing various Arabic worship songs.
• Recite 10 Bible verses in Arabic.
• Read aloud printed Arabic texts with fluency.
• Translate simple Arabic texts into English.
• Write simple texts in Arabic script.
Grading Policies: Grading Policies: 50% homework, 30% quizzes, 20% class participation.
Grading Scale:90-100 A, 80-89 B, 70-79 C, 60-69 D, 0-59 F
